Kaiteriteri Bay is centrally located in the Nelson Region, well known for it's sunny climate, apple and kiwifruit orchards, and hop fields. It is situated close to Motueka and the Abel Tasman National Park.

National Parks: It is central to the three national parks of the region, the Abel Tasman National Park, the Nelson Lakes National Park, and the Kaharuangi National Park in Golden Bay. Kaiteriteri beach is the general area for departures for ferries and water Taxi's to the Abel Tasman National park and surrounding bays.

Sea kayaking and seal swims: The Abel Tasman National Park is renown for its spectacular coastline. There are a number of tour operators offering one day or multi-day trips exploring the golden beaches and wildlife.

Golf courses: There are 5 golf courses within a 45 minute drive from Kaiterieteri.

Vineyards: Some of the best New Zealand wines are produced in the Nelson region. There are a large number of vineyards within a short drive from Kaiteriteri.

Winter Sports: A 45 minute drive will take you to the Nelson Lakes National Park. Rainbow Skifield is a small family field.

The Nelson area is the perfect place to "drop out" or get into outdoor sports and events. Tours to the wineries of the Nelson area, the Ngarua caves, Farewell Spit and Pupu Springs.
